“Greek Week” in Italy

greek weekThe Philhellenic Society of Italy is organizing the first “Greek Week” from September 8 to 14, in Marina di Ascea, addressed to those who love Greece and especially to young people.

According to the president and founder of the Society, professor Marco Galdi, the organization aspires to become the annual meeting of Italian philhellenes. The program includes courses of ancient and modern Greek, academic lectures, film screenings, activities and events that will bring the Italian public closer to the Greek culture and tradition.

The Philhellenic Society aims to promote the Greek culture and raise awareness, especially among younger generations, of what the Western civilization owes to Greece.

The “Greek Week” is an initiative of the Greek Embassy in Italy and the Federation of Greek Communities and Brotherhoods Italy (FCCEI). It is organised by the Philhellenic Society in cooperation with the Greek Community of Naples and Campania, the Alario Foundation for Elea and the Archaeological Heritage Ephorate of Salerno.
