Greek Pastry Chef a Hit in Denmark

Nikolaos Strangas from Kalamata and Mani in Greece set off on a mission seeking a better future.  Finally this pastry chef’s sweet dreams, literally, became a reality.

Strangas studied to be a pastry chef  on the island of Rhodes, Greece and attended seminars abroad. During the period between 2000 and 2003, the Greek pastry chef has worked in many hotels in different countries with Denmark amongst them.

He decided to stay on Danish soil and in 2003 started practicing his sweet talents at the Hilton Hotel in Copenhagen.  Later, he worked as a pastry chef at Michelin restaurant Era Ora until 2010.

Strangas stood out because he was very talented and loved his work. His talent did not pass unnoticed. He is the creator of  “Dessert of the Year 2011”  and owner of the “Nikolaos Strangas Cakeaway” in Copenhagen. In 2012, he was also honored by the Danish Gastronomic Academy. In addition, he shows his talent and reveals his pastry secrets in the cooking section of a Danish daily TV show.
