Empowering the Global Community to ‘Reload Greece’ Tomorrow!

reloadThe second Reload Greece Conference, entitled “Empowering the Global Community” was held with great success at the Hellenic Centre of London, on the 29th of September 2014 aiming to showcase new ways in which everyone can make an impact in Greece either from home or abroad.

The conference drew together 15 outstanding individuals who stood out as role models for their social and economic impact in Greece from abroad as well as 200 aspiring entrepreneurs. The programme included presentations by some of the most successful entrepreneurs and expert professionals like Steve Vranakis from Google, Periklis Papadopoulos from NASA, Tak Lo from Techstars, Demetri Chriss from Tuvunu and  Nikos Stathopoulos from The Hellenic Initiative, who offered food-for-thought that dominated attendees’ discussions during the breaks.

Reload Greece is the Hub of Greek Entrepreneurship in London, seeking solutions that can generate economic growth and social impact in Greece.
It started as an initiative by five young Greeks to inspire and educate other passionate and innovative people to launch game-changing ventures related to Greece.

reload1Reload Greece aims to be the leading organization that educates and actively supports young Greeks and Philhellenes globally in undertaking entrepreneurial ventures which will have a significant and sustainable social and economic impact on Greece.

In just over a year Reload Greece has organized 2 Conferences, 6 meetUatReload events and one “Dragons Den” style event in London featuring a total of 70 entrepreneurs connected to Greece, which have attracted 700 Reloaders.

It has received support from London Business School, the Hellenic Centre in London, the British Hellenic Chamber of Commerce, the Hellenic Student Clubs at LSE and Imperial College, and the Athens Laboratory of Business Administration (ALBA), among others.

During the last conference, Markos Kiosseoglou, the General Manager of Reload Greece announced the launch of a £20,000 crowdfunding campaign aimed at mobilizing more young people into action across the UK and eventually in other countries. The plan includes sharing the Reload Greece methodology with Hellenic Societies in Universities all over the world starting from the UK to inspire and educate thousands of young people about how to take action that will have an impact in Greece. The ultimate goal is to develop a systematic process that will refine the most promising ventures and prepare them so they can be introduced to our network of investors to solicit funding.

The Reload Greece team also announced its first ever event in Nafplion, Greece, a five-day immersive bootcamp on the 21st-25th of April 2014. teamUp-startUp, held with the support of ALBA Graduate Business School aims to help Reloaders develop their ideas or projects through collaborative working, cross-fertilization of perspectives, exposure to international mindsets and the immersion to the Greek entrepreneurial environment.
