Greek President to Meet with Pope Francis

ÓÕÍÁÍÔÇÓÇ ÔÏÕ ÐÑÏÅÄÑÏÕ ÔÇÓ ÄÇÌÏÊÑÁÔÉÁÓ ê.ÊÁÑÏËÏÕ ÐÁÐÏÕËÉÁ ÌÅ ÔÇ ÓÕÍÔÏÍÉÓÔÉÊÇ ÅÐÉÔÑÏÐÇ ÃÉÁ ÔÏ ÊÁÐÍÉÓÌÁ "ÓÐ.ÄÏÎÉÁÄÇÓ-Ã.ÃÅÍÍÇÌÁÔÁÓ"(EUROKINISSI/ÃÉÙÑÃÏÓ ÊÏÍÔÁÑÉÍÇÓ)The Greek President, Karolos Papoulias on Friday,  March 28, will be meeting with Pope Francis in the Vatican. Papoulias will visit Rome for the inauguration of an exhibition of Greek and Italian antiquities. Papoulias will also meet his Italian counterpart Giorgio Napolitano.

The exhibition is organized by both Greece and Italy, on the occasion of the Greek EU presidency which is followed by the Italian one. The Greek President and Napolitano will hold a working meeting, while Papoulias will also meet with the president of the Italian Parliament.

Papoulias will be accompanied on his trip by the Minister of Education, Constantinos Arvanitopoulos and the Minister of Culture, Panos Panayiotopoulos.

The Greek and Italian Presidents had last met in Rome in September 2012.
