Ancient Greek Antigone in MoscowPeople in Moscow who share the same passion for ancient drama, had dreamed for many years of bringing Greece’s Sophocles play Antigone to their city. It is a dream that came true when the play was finally performed on February 21-23 at the “Luna Theater.

The play, which was a fruit of the cooperation between the theater and the Hellenic Cultural Center of Moscow, was directed by Aleksands Smoliakof.

The role of Antigone was performed by the director of the Hellenic Cultural Center Theodora Giannitsi, the role of Creon by the distinguished actor Euclid Kyurdzidis, while the role of Haemon was performed by the popular young actor Dmitry Bikbaev. The music was composed by the Greek composer Nikos Xanthoulis.
