5th Sympossio Greek Gourmet Touring Kicks Off in Stockholm

sympossioThe 5th consecutive Sympossio Greek Gourmet Touring will kick off in Stockholm, Sweden during the Greece Panorama exhibition from February 2 to February 16, 2014. Sympossio will tour in Western and Eastern Europe to show the European tourism industry a vibrant and tasteful image of modern day Greece — a country that produces, creates and most importantly, shares.

The Vice President of Aldemar Group, A. Angelopoulos stated, “Sympossio, its products and its people, insist on touring at a time when all Europe is being tested. However, despite the economic crisis, the production and standardization of excellent products is being reintroduced. Greece is contributing to global gastronomy, while its products are once again traveling across the globe, letting people know about its gastronomical wealth through various creations from Greek and foreign chefs.”

He added, “This overall change is not restricted to economic activities and social behaviors, but also extends to culinary habits. Greeks are known for gathering around tables to drink ouzo and share their time, food, happiness and zest for life. The economic crisis has awakened a strong urge to celebrate life. To not be alone. To no just look at your own plate, but look at your friends and at the table where you will find simple and exquisite flavors to share with your loved ones.

Sympossio 2014, the fifth consecutive Greek culinary journey around the world, is organized by the Hellenic Tourism Organization (EOT) and the Greek Ministry of Tourism; it has high-end sponsors and is aiming to show the world the Greek way of living each moment to the fullest. Ouzo and ouzeri (a Greek type of tavern that sells ouzo) will be the main themes for the 5th Sympossio, combined with the Greek notion of sharing your most important moments with your loved one while eating mezedes.
