International Award in London Greek Film Festival

festival_london_malamaInternational Award and first prize was awarded to the director of ERT3, Kiriaki Malama for the film “Kseni chora” at the annual Greek Film Festival in London.

The film “Kseni Chora” from the documentary series “Mia klironomia” written by Toupalgiki Fani won the first award Odysseus in the category of Best creative documentaries.

The Greek Film Festival in London, held for the sixth year, is one of the most prestigious and renowned competitive festivals on an international level. This year the main theme was the recording of Greek contemporary reality, through the art of cinema.

The award-winning documentary, demonstrates stories of refugees who arrive in Greece hungry and barefoot, like the temporary refugees around the world.

The modern spectator watching this documentary is taken on a journey through the struggles of refugees, traveling between the past and present.

The awarded artist Malama, has won the Audience Award at the International Documentary Festival of Thessaloniki, and several awards for quality documentaries. During the festival, she referred to the touching struggle of her colleagues in the ERT3, who are trying to produce a high quality program.

It’s remarkable that the films that won first prize will be showcased from December 4 to 8 at the Michalis Kakogiannis Foundation in Athens.
