Greek Gastronomy Presentation in Anuga 2013

taste like GreeceThe Greek gastronomic tourism was promoted at the world’s largest and most important food and beverage fair, Anuga 2013, which took place in Cologne, Germany, from Oct 6 to 9. More than 180 exhibitors from all over Greece were there along with representatives from ten commercial chambers and from four regional units in the country (Peloponnese, Western Macedonia, Eastern Macedonia and Thrace, Crete), who supported the participation of the Greek enterprises at the exhibition and exhibited the wealth of the Greek production.

In cooperation with the Hellenic Foreign Trade Board (HEPO), the cooking team of the Aldemar Hotels group, as part of the “Greece on a Dish” campaign, prepared and presented the menus of the cuisines of four gastronomic regions of the country, using the products of the Greek exhibitors.

The Hellenic Food Authority (EFET)also participated at the 2013 edition of Anuga which is considered to be the world´s leading food fair for the retail trade and the food service and catering market.

EFET presented the information dissemination activities concerning QBake. QBake (Qualifications for the European Bakery Industry) is a Leonardo da Vinci Development of Innovation Project, funded by the EC through the EACEA. The main objective is to develop an appropriate training course for employees of the sector who otherwise will not have the opportunity of updating their knowledge and skills with respect to new Technologies implemented in the Bakery Industry.

According to EFET’s announcement, the dissemination activities in the framework of the international exposition were carried out in cooperation with representatives of the partners of the project QBake and aimed to inform the exhibitors of bakery industry and the interested from the bread industry at a European and international level for the project in question.

Also participating in the dissemination activities, were the rest of the project’s partners and particularly, AINIA from Spain (project coordinator), Campden BRI from the United Kingdom and the institute IBA from Romania.
