Rapti Takes Part in Child Sex Abuse Meeting

Teen_Sexual_AbuseGreek Member of Parliament Elena Rapti attended the two-day International Conference, held in Budapest, as a member of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe and as national coordinator of the campaign One in Five of the institution which aims at fighting child sexual abuse.

In the conference which was organized by the Sports Secretariat of the Ministry of Human Resources of Hungary in collaboration with the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, Rapti presented the Greek project in the campaign, which aims at informing and sensitizing the Greek public opinion of the problem.

She stressed that the Greek campaign is being supported by the top political and institutional leaders such as Prime Minister Antonis Samaras, the President of the Greek Parliament, the Archbishop of Athens, the Ministers of Education and Health, the Ombudsman, the leader of the Greek Police and many prefects, mayors, organizations and institutions of the civil society, scientists and academics as well as many volunteers.
