UAegean Dean Visits Imbros School

Costas Vratsalis, Dean of the School of the Humanities, Associate Professor of the Department of Primary Education of the University of the Aegean visited the Greek minority school of Saints Theodore on Imbros, which opened after an interval of 49 years.

Vratsalis met with the school’s director, Paraskevi Berberi, to whom he wished all the very best of success in this difficult venture. He also donated to the school library Magda Maria’s book, Schools of the Dodecanese.

Moreover,Vratsalis, met with residents of Saints Theodore in the building of their cultural association as well as with the  priest Asterios Okomousis, who briefed him about the life of the Imbros Orthodox inhabitants.

During the meetings, Vratsalis ensured that the School of Humanities will assist the efforts of the Orthodox minority on behalf of their children’s education, therefore within the framework of interstate treaties of the minority school.
