Fifty-Three Greek Pilots in Turkish Airlines

turkish_airlinesThe financial crisis that is plaguing Greece has led many Greek experienced pilots to Turkey.

According to data from Turkish Airlines, published in the newspaper Habertürk, the largest percentage of foreign pilots that work in Turkish Airlines are Greek.

At the present time, 375 foreign pilots are employed in the air company, of whom 53 are Greek, 43 Spanish and 42 Italian. In addition, there are 27 German, 17 English, 16 Austrian and 14 French pilots.

“The crisis in the EU has taken off Turkish Airlines, as many pilots from European countries, such as Spain and Greece, rush to Turkey in order to work,” Habertürk reported.

In Turkish Airlines, 2.229 Turkish pilots are employed. The same air company has started hiring foreign flight attendants as well.
