Austrian_help_GreeceAustrian citizens from the State of Upper Austria began a major initiative to provide help to Greek citizens who have been financially affected by the crisis of recent years in Greece, according to a publication of the Austrian newspaper Oberösterreichische Nachrichten, entitled, Austrian Help to the Marathon to Exit Poverty.

On the initiative of the president of the famous Austrian charitable organization, People’s Assistance, Joseph Weiderholtser, and his collaborator of Greek origin Lambros Moustakakis – who has already organized several assistance missions to Greece since the beginning of the crisis- the corresponding organization, People’s Assistance of Greece, was recently founded.

As Weiderholtser stated to the newspaper, there was great interest from the Greek side, especially from the Ministry of Labor, which said if the project is successful, its activity could be expanded throughout Greece.
