French Clinics Offer Job to Greek Doctors

imagesVitalia, the second largest private hospital group in France with forty-seven healthcare facilities throughout the country, offers employment opportunities to Greek doctors of every specialty.

A number of Greek doctors already work in the group’s clinics and declare to be satisfied by the working conditions in France, while 25 more expressed their interest by assisting Vitalia’s informing event that took place on June 19 in Thessaloniki.

Sylvie Charlet, Director of Medical Affairs at Vitalia, mentioned that 100 posts are emptied every year in the group’s clinics due to retirement. The group offers Greek doctors who wish to join Vitalia the opportunity to improve their skills in French, while it also provides them with a three-month support package  until they find a house.

The doctors sign a contract of cooperation with the group, which means they do not have an employment relationship, and can have their own clinic.

Surgeon Savvas Rafailidis left ten months ago the position of lecturer at the Medical School of AUTH in order to go and work in a clinic of the Vitalia group. “I’ve been to Paris for specialization and I was offered a job at the group’s hospital in Province. Financially and scientifically the conditions are very good there. Such conditions do not exist in Greece. The French lifestyle is different, work starts at eight and ends at seven in the afternoon with a lunch break. Everything that a doctor needs in order to carry out a surgery is provided by the clinic,” Rafailidis said.
