Children’s Book Week in Munich

Children_bookStoryteller Evi Gerokosta was spotted late April in Munich on a secret mission. With the help of Panagiotis Michailidis, the so-called captain Panagos broke into the classrooms of the Greek schools of Munich and Dachau, facilitating the “entrance” of infinite tales!

All this occurred in the Children’s Book Week, which was organized for the twelfth year by the Greek Art and Culture Center Aristophanes, based in Munich. As Michailidis told AMNA, the aim of the project was to give Greek students the opportunity to come in contact with the extracurricular book, “to win over even one child, to make them think and feel Greek.”

Michailidis’ effort to bring into contact Greek children with literature, was recognized by the Circle of the Greek Children’s Book, who awarded the Aristophanes prize for the love of reading. The prize was accompanied by books worth 300 euros, offered by Patakis publications to the 2nd Primary School of Munich.

Aristophanes has organized for May 9 a concert with Areti Ketime and young artists, in the framework of the 2nd Festival of New Musicians of Germany.
