Greek Students Protest Erdogan In Budapest

studentsGreek students along with others from Syria and Armenia protested Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s visit to Budapest. During his lecture, they stood outside the university where he was speaking and called him terrorist, insisting Turkey recognize the Armenian Genocide.

Erdogan planned to give a speech on Democracy in Turkey at ELTE Universtity. However, Greek students together with others from other countries, refused to attend.  “Clearly, this was another demonstration of Turkish democracy in action,” activist Alex Avanesyan told PanARMENIAN.Net

Erdogan paid an official visit to Budapest and was greeted with military honors at the Parliament Building by Prime Minister Viktor Orbán. Erdogan reiterated Turkey’s desire to become a member of the EU. He also talked about trade issues with Orban and President Janos Ader.
