German Tourists Will Not Visit Greece

German_tourist-100x100A 72% of German tour operators estimate that Greece will not be able to reverse the situation created by negative statements cited in German journals about the country, according to a survey conducted among 235 members of the tourism industry, which was published today in the Die Welt journal as well as on the website FinanzNachrichten.de.

According to AMNA, 54% of those who were asked, said that German tourists will avoid visiting Greece, since they are worried about strikes and protests, while 45% believe that Greece will become an attractive tourist destination once again. Forecasts concerning Cyprus seem to be more positive. A 21% believe that the tourism industry of Cyprus is going to crumble, while 63% say that Cyprus will not follow in Greece’s footsteps.

A 72% of the same operators though, seem more optimistic regarding the prospects of the German tourism industry, while 76% predict Germans will not reduce their travel expenses.
