Greek Cuisine Shows Off In Holland

AthosCuisine from the island of Mykonos, as well as from Halkidiki was featured at a cooking event in Utrecht, Netherlands. As a part of the Dutch Tourism Fair Vakantiebeurs the Mount Athos region presented its traditional food event held in Mykonos restaurant.

The guests including Dutch journalists and tourism operators had a chance to taste the delicious traditional dishes and wines of Metochi Chromitsas, from the Farmhouse Chromitsa of the Monastery of St. Panteleimon.

The dished and wines presented were also from the menu of Mediterraneo, which will be held nearby the Mount Athos region from June 1-15. Five dishes based on a wonderful mediterranean menu, inspired by the cooking from the Mt. Athos area were presented in the Netherlands event, a menu created by Bakatsianos Restaurant’s chef, Dimitris Polyzos.

Representatives of the Dutch tourism agencies who attended the even presented their tourism proposals and their catalogues for the third foot of the Halkidiki region. Dutch journalists were invited to participate in the Mediterraneo,  including visits to local culinary and winery points.
