Through the Lens of George Seferis in Milan

SeferisIn the seat of the central Public Library of Milan, Palazzo Sormani, also known as Palazzo Sormani-Andreani, the historic building of Milan, the exhibition titled Through the lens of George Seferis is opening on Jan. 17. The exhibition includes a small extract from Seferis’ work, his photo archive, which is in the hands of the National Bank of Greece Cultural Foundation (MIET.)

The Seferis’ photo archive, which was donated to MIET, by George Seferis’ wife Maro Seferi, and their daughter Anna Lontou, is comprised of 2,500 photograph negatives taken by Seferis from 1920 while he was studying in Paris, to 1971 when he died.

The exhibition Through the Lens of George Seferis has been organized by MIET, The Consulate General in Milan as well as the Palazzo Sormani Library and will last until February 16, 2013.
