“We Live in A Post-War Period”

Something Will Happen, You’ll See, the new book by Christos Oikonomou, which won the National Short Story Award 2011, has been recently translated into Italian under the title Qualcosa Capitera, Vedrai.

“We lost this war, and it was political leaders’ fault. It’s a post-war period. Greece is a small country and its survival depends on European forces’ decisions. If they do something to save Europe, we will survive. Otherwise, next year the political and financial conditions will be worst, not only in Greece but in all European countries,” Oikonomou said in an interview with Unita.

The book is expected to be translated into German as well. Oikonomou said he tries not to confuse journalism with writing and said he’s wondering if there are any common points between Greeks and people from other European countries except for the common curency, the euro.
