Mayor Ude celebrates 65th birthday the Greek Way

The Philhellene First Mayor of Munich and SPD’s leading candidate for the upcoming Bavarian state election in 2013, Christian Ude, celebrated  his 65th birthday on Oct.26.

In an official event held at the Ceremonial Hall of Munich’s old Town Hall, Ude received greetings from about four hundred guests and representatives of the Bavarian society, among who representatives of the Greek Community, Bavarian Reverend Apostolos Malamousis and Councillor Constantine Giannakakos.

The ceremony ended with traditional dancing from members of the Greek Women Lyceum filling the air with Greek music. Vicar Malamousis, handed Ude a handmade Byzantine icon of Christ and conveyed greetings from Metropolitan Augustine of Germany, who also feels very grateful for Ude’s contribution to the Greek Community of Munich.
