Austria: Ecumenical Vespers in Carnuntum

Ecumenical Vespers in Carnuntum were held in honor of the the victims of persecution of Christians, and also devoted to the Augustus Council, known over the world as an important turning point in the history of humanity as the threshold of the legalization of Christianity.

A mass was held at The Greek Orthodox Metropolitan of Austria and Hungary, Exarhos and Arsenios, performed by regional representatives in Austria, in Petronel, where the ruins of the ancient Roman city, Carnuntum, are located. Many people attended, including delegates from the Intercultural Association of Vienne, Macedonia.

The services included a classical music concert with religious references, featuring Austia’s First Women Orchestra, and ended with a concert of Greek art and folk music from the band Vienna Ellines, devoted to the composer Manos Loizos, marking 30 years since his death.
