Ariana Mouyiaris, founder and Creative Director of Haptic Thought, a visual consulting group, will curate the DesignMarketo collection for Brompton Design District at this year’s London Design Festival under the title Kopiaste, a Greek word meaning welcoming.
With a sense of humor and sarcasm for the current political situation in Greece and the uncertainty it causes Greeks, Brompton Design District is hosting a small exhibit of traditional Greek products both open to view and taste. The collection also features books focusing on bread and cheese. Michael Anastassiades’ €uro Bread and Greece is for Lovers’ Ye Olde Feta Cheese are two examples of art commenting on politics.
The exhibition will also feature a workshop on how to make bread, while Alexandre Bettler’s book The Bread Workshop takes bread-making into a more social dimension exploring different cultural environments. Kopiaste runs until Sept. 23 at 4 Cromwell Place into the events organized in the Brompton Design District that celebrate its 5th year as new venue of the festival.
