The Greek Paralympic team will come back home with a lot of medals, unlike the Greek Olympic team which had one of its worst performances. Greek athletes earned two more medals Sept. 8 at the London 2012 Paralympic Games, raising the team’s total to an even dozen.
Anthi Karagianni became “bronze” when she finished third in the Women’s Long Jump- F13. The athlete from Kavala, aged 30, won her first medal in these Games for her 5.16-meter long jump, giving the Greek team its 11th at the time.
Then, Manolis Stefanoudakis, from Megalonissos on Crete earned a bronze too for a toss of 27.37 meters in the Men’s Javelin Throw -F54/55/56, giving the Greek team its 12th medal, insuring a successful game for the team.
