Mouskouri Asks Schaeuble to Show Patience With Greece

Renowned singer Nana Mouskouri  met with German Finance Minister Wolfgang Schaeuble in Berlin, not to talk about music, but the economic crisis besetting her homeland and the tough stance many German officials are taking, pushing more austerity measures.

This meeting was organized at the so-called Open Door Day, when, once a year, German citizens have the right to visit ministries and services of the country to discuss issues with their parliamentary representatives. Mouskouri now lives mostly in Switzerland. She and Schaeuble talked about the impact the crisis is having on Greece and the Eurozone.

“We are a proud nation. Besides, who hasn’t made any mistakes?” Mouskouri said, according to the German tabloid Bild“If we cannot dream, then we cannot hope for anything,” she concluded while Schaeuble replied that,  “We should not stop dreaming, but, in the meantime, we should keep working.”
