Scottish Man Stopped Olympic Torch-Bearer To Light His Cigarette

True story- This could only have happened in Scotland, reports Daily Star. According to a bystander, a Scottish man asked the Olympic torch-bearer to light his cigarette!

In downtown Edinburgh, while the Olympic flame-bearers carried the torch through Scotland, Calum MacDonald thought it was time for a cigarette but could not find his lighter. As a result, he nicked a light from the Olympic flame.

The torchbearer stopped running for a second to help the guy light his cigarette and reporters rushed to capture this strange moment. I wonder what the media would have reported if Mr MacDonald was Greek!

No respect from the British. So we should make sure they never again get the Olympics. And refer this every time they make their application to host the games.

What would they say, if we did something like this to them?

    Ptoo sas. Dropi.

A moment of DISRESPECT which should never have being allowed. It’s a shame.
This is for  mr Calum Macdonald to read and learn :The Olympic Flame is a symbol of the Olympic Games. Commemorating the theft of fire from the Greek god Zeus by Prometheus, its origins lie in ancient Greece, where a fire was kept burning throughout the celebration of the ancient Olympics. The fire was reintroduced at the 1928 Summer Olympics in Amsterdam, and it has been part of the modern Olympic Games ever since. In contrast to the Olympic flame proper, the torch relay of modern times which transports the flame from Greece to the various designated sites of the games had no ancient precedent and was introduced by Carl Diem at the controversial 1936 Summer Olympics in Berlin.

F**k, these are not Olympic Games, these are a joke. Brits, Scots, etc. you should be ashamed of yourselves you do not deserve the honor of entrusting you the Olympic ideal. I am disgusted!

Let the people have a smoke. Let us not make a big deal out of everything.

  • Dimitrios G. Panagiotidis
