14 Greek Artists Express the Great Crisis in Vienna

The financial crisis has affected our mental health, our social life as well as our bank accounts to say nothing of the artistic spirit of several painters, poets or sculptors. Fourteen contemporary artists from Athens comment and position themselves in a world that is constantly changing and where human behaviour is gradually getting out of control.

At the boiling point of a 100 degrees Celsius when there is hardly any time to think, two generations of artists find themselves in the same boat. Videodrome, a selection of contemporary video artists curated by Kika Kyriakakou will also be presented as part of the exhibition.

The Boiling Point exhibition is curated by Giorgos and Dimitris Georgakopoulos, as part of the ‘cheapart’ movement which they have established. Giavropoulos Nikos, Grigoriadis Ioannis, Voussouras Andreas, Ganas Giannis, Zafiropoulos Thodoris, Marathaki Eva, Bassanos Kostas, Foutris Dimitris, Halatsis Dimitris, Bachlitzanaki Irini, Karalis Babis, Spanoudaki Anneta, Tserionis Giorgos, Toptsidou Olympia are the artists participating in this exhibition held by the Vienna-based Kuenstlerhaus from July 20 through August 12 2012.
