Women’s Greek Beach Volleyball Team Takes Second Place in Europe

The women’s Greek national beach volleyball team of Vicky Arvaniti and Maria Tsiartsiani won the silver medal in the European Beach Volleyball Championship, which took place in Hague, the Netherlands.

The Greek sports team managed to play really well, but Dutch Kaiser and Van IerselĀ stopped the Greeks from finishing first. The latter got defeated with 2-0 sets, and this medal is the second they’ve won together. They celebrated their second place in Marseille, as well, in 2009 Grand Slam.

Despite they tried hard to win over the Dutch, Arvaniti and Tsiartsiani did not manage to beat them. After the first set, which ended 1-0 for the Dutch, the Greek team appeared made many crucial mistakes. As a result, the 21-11 score was final and the Dutch team was declared winner.

Although the final match was not the best that the Greek beach volleyball team ever had, it was a pretty good one; second place is a very satisfying result.
