Theodoros Aggelopoulos Honored at Cannes Film Festival

Theo Aggelopoulos’s wife Phoebe was once again honored for having had such a great husband. She traveled to France to attend a Cannes festival evening dedicated to her late companion.

Every director that has participated and been awarded at the Cannes Film festival was honored during a special evening hosted by President of the Festival, Gilles Jacob. The night was dedicated to the late Theo Aggelopoulos and Raul Ruiz, two important directors that passed away recently. The night honored talented people that contributed to the Festival’s mythical presence in the cinema world.

The attendees gathered at Debussy hall for the ceremony, where the  “Chacun son cinema” was presented, which is a collection of 33 short films made by a group of 35 directors such as Roman Polanski, hailing from 5 continents and 25 different countries in 2007. The participants each made their own three-minute film on the theme of the movie theatre, a place sacred to the world’s film buffs, Theo Aggelopoulos being one of them.
