Mykonos island is pretty well-known all around the world. The Greek island attracts hundreds of young tourists during the summer, famous for its beautiful beaches and its cosmopolitan night life.
Actors, directors and renowned fashion designers, not only from Europe but also from Hollywood, visit Mykonos every year. But however popular it is, Mykonos needs advertisement. Officials of the Municipality of Mykonos have an intention: to make sure that Mykonos will always be one of the top tourist destinations.
So they coordinated with the British design company working for the chain store “The Real Greek Restaurants,” in order to promote Mykonos internationally. Greek officials came to an agreement with the owner of the chain, and two outsized posters depicting the Greek island now decorate the walls of the Convent Garden restaurant in London.
Each of them, about 8 square meters, reminds attendants of the restaurant of the natural beauty of Mykonos. Keeping in mind the motto, “a picture is worth a thousand words,” this is undoubtedly a great move made by the Greek officials.
Mykonos was present at the BIT-International Tourism Fair in Milan as well. The main advertising poster of the Northern Aegean islands at Greek display stands was a picture of Mykonos.
