Exhibition on Cyprus to Be Hosted at the Louvre Museum

During a meeting with President of the Cyprus Republic Demetris Christofias, Jean Marc-Rives, Ambassador of France to Nicosia, announced that a large exhibition on Cypriot culture will be held at the Louvre Museum in Paris to coincide with the Cyprus Presidency of the Council of the EU.

In statements after the meeting, the Ambassador said that he had an excellent relation with Cyprus authorities and thanked President Christofias and the people of Cyprus for their hospitality.

He added that France and Cyprus excel at relations not only on a political level, but on the bilateral and European level as well. He also made a referral to the establishment of a Cypriot-French School, which will operate next September, due to the determination of President Christofias and the support of the government.

The Ambassador mentioned the museum exhibitions hosted by France in the last two years, noting that this year’s exhibition attracted 37,000 visitors and finally, he announced the coming exhibition at the Louvre Museum.
