Breaking: Angela Merkel Signs $300 Billion War Reparation Check to Greece

On April 1st, Angela Merkel, makes a heroic statement in German Budestag, announcing that Germany will pay Greece almost what the country's debt is as war reparation.

In the beginning Germans started complaining to Greece about the Mediterranean country’s bad economic situation. Then they threatened Greece to be thrown out of the Euro zone if the country did not comply with their regulations, but now, Germany decided to help the Mediterranean country in an unprecedented act of justice.

The members of the German Bundestag were shocked as Angela Merkel changed completely her stance on Greece and announced that Germany will pay in installments to debt-ridden country close to 300 billion euros for war reparations.

“We tried to play tough with Greece so Greeks can learn and change their bad practices of the past, now it is our turn to help the Greeks by giving them a cushion for a new beginning, money that Greece will now use wisely to rebuild their economy,” said Merkel.

And the jaw-dropping statement continued, “Despite the political cost in Germany, I took this decision because I think it is not only fair to Greece, but also it is fair to history . We need to correct the mistakes we made in the course of our history as a nation. We owe this money to Greece and now it is the best moment to address this issue once and for all.”

A counselor to Germany’s Minister of Finance Wolfgang Schäuble broke the news exclusively to Greek Reporter as the statement was taking place.

“We felt obliged to compensate Greece for all the pain and losses the country suffered as a result of Germany’s acts during WWII.”

“Mr. Schäuble was aware of the announcement and I admit that it was something that he had on his mind for quite long time.”

The German official added that Mr. Schäuble and the German Chancellor had a meeting last Saturday about this issue.

“They wanted to go over all the technical details of how the reparations will be paid and when would be the best moment to make the announcement.”

“Both Chancellor Merkel and Mr. Schäuble agreed that April 1st would be the best date for this announcement, after all, it is April Fools day, you know” the German official concluded.

UPDATE – Thank you all for your comments, negative or positive. Just to clarify a few things: We did not write this article to offend anybody nor to joke about a serious matter that we believe should be addressed by Germany. Every year on April 1st we publish a story that is not true. This is what we did with this story as well. Instead of doing a fake gossip story, as many outlets do, we decided to do some wishful thinking and also bring on the spotlight an issue we wish it had receive more light. Because of this story more people are talking about the issue something that is to Greece’s benefit. We hope one day to republish this as a true story. And we hope you will continue talking about it…negative or positively it doesn’t matter- just keep it in your agendas!
