The 29-year-old actor Clémence Poesie will be in Greece next Monday in order to participate in the 13th French Film Festival as a member of the jury panel. The famous actor, whose last name means ‘poetry’, is using her acting skills in the French perfume campaigns she stars in, in fashion magazines (“I-d’, “Jalouse”) shootings, and of course on the catwalks for world-class designers, such as Chanel, Balenciaga, and Burberry Prorsum.
She has her own personal style and rarely accepts the instructions of stylists. She believes that “fashion is a form of art”.
Enigmatic and passionate, mysteriously sweet and smoothly bold, are the features that make her “sell” that much in the fashion world. She is the daughter of a theatrical director and a teacher. “My sister and I grew up watching our father play, create and search, that’s why we both chose to become actresses”, she explains.
Maëlle, her sister, who is a film director, is preparing her next job in Greece. Her mother, who is a French teacher, passed on to her a “great love for books, words, stories”.
The special guest of the French Film Festival is visiting Athens with complete awareness of the present situation. “Today’s economic situation is so complex that I think I am not the one to be talking about it. Last summer I was in Greece for vacation and I could feel the tension around me. My mother taught me to love Greek mythology and Greek history. Our language’s origins, the background of our culture and education, find their routes in Greece. It’s a country I love and admire”, she admits. When it comes to the Festival she explains she has distinguished the film “Attenberg” by Athina-Rachel Tsangari, in which Poesie finds a great deal of hope.
