Nasos Ktorides Becomes First Cypriot UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador

Nasos Ktorides was officially instated as a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador in Cyprus. He will be the first Cypriot to receive this important distinction.

Mr. Ktorides commented on his distinction that it has a great meaning for his country, and that the long history of UNICEF’s humanitarian work will give his own work a new dynamic.

Nasos Ktorides was born in Nicosia. He is the founder and president of Quantum Group, which operates five electricity production plants of 1422 Mw power in southeastern Europe. Mr. Ktorides has served as co-founder and first executive vice-president of the Commerce Bank of Greece in Cyprus. He is currently working towards the strategic update of his country in terms of energy from his position as the president of Quantum Energy.

Mr. Ktorides has a long history of humanitarian work, while he has become a Marathon runner since 2008. He has already taken part in the Athens and Boston Marathon and he is currently training to participate at the North Pole Marathon.
