Greek Chorus To Participate in ‘A Journey Through Olympic Cities’ Concert in Nottingham

Young musicians are going to pay tribute to the Olympics in Britain with a celebratory concert in Nottingham, as ‘This is Nottingham’ reports.

The concert, called ‘A Journey Through Olympic Cities’, will take place at Nottingham’s Royal Concert Hall on Saturday.

It has been jointly organised by the Nottingham Youth Orchestra and Nottingham Jazz Youth Orchestra, with around 95 teenagers performing classic tracks.

The concert, which will be presented by former BBC weatherman Des Coleman, will feature interviews with Olympic athletes, a Greek chorus and a dance performance.

The concert is the only large event taking place in Nottingham for the Making Music weekend, led by the BBC, which is part of the London 2012 Cultural Olympiad.

The concert starts at 7:30pm and there will be displays in the foyer of sport-related work from local schools who have been taking part in the London 2012 Get Set Olympic education programme.
