22-year-old Extradited To Greece For Attacking Croydon Footballer in Crete

22-year-old Joseph Bruckland, of Hookwood, Surrey, has been extradited to Greece on charges of having brutally attacked former Sutton United and Croydon Athletic footballer Robbie Hughes in Malia, Crete, in June 2008.

In addition to Bruckland, Curtis Taylor, Daniel Bell, Sean Branton, Benjamin Herdman, and George Hollands were all extradited to Greece last year and are now expected to face trial within the following months.

According to Sutton Guardian, the Greek authorities delayed issuing a European arrest warrant for Bruckland because he faced criminal proceedings in the UK.

After attacking a rugby player and escaping the local police, a court decided to extradite Bruckland on December 8 and the young offender was flown to Greece on December 29, where he was immediately arrested by the Greek police.

Thank God they have got the last member of this evil gang from south London .
Reading the declarations of innocence written by the parents of the Surrey six , you would think they did not know each other !
It’s a shame the victim of their attempted murder is now so badly damaged that he has no recollection of his life before the attack, does not recognise his own family and has a life of medication and no hope of improvement .
These thugs destroyed a life and must pay for the rest of their lives for the medical and social costs of keeping Robert safe in the community.
