Rapid developments in the financial and political status of Greece within the past few months have led to the postponement of the solution of the name dispute between the two neighboring countries, stated Nicola Gruevski during his interview to local Utrinski Vesnik news agency on the occasion of his 100th day of governance as FYROM’s Prime Minister.
“The Greek debt crisis has put negotiations over the name dispute on ice. Since June, we are facing a situation we have no control of. They (i.e. Greece) are totally focused on their domestic crisis at the moment leaving everything else aside.” claimed the FYROM PM.
“For the time being we cannot hope that Greece will join talks in order to commonly find a solution on the name dispute. No matter what the developments or the government may be in Greece, I suppose we cannot hope or wait for any change in the current stall” added Mr. Gruevski.
At the same time, the FYROM leader repeated his known thesis on the name dispute and supported that his beliefs are the reflection of the majority of his country’s population.
