73-Year-Old Greek Author Triumphs in Sweden

The Greek author, Thodoris Kallifatidis immigrated in Sweden 47 years ago and became a famous and distinguished Swedish writer. He is widely known in Sweden, where he has won many awards, while the inpiration for most of his books comes from Ancient Greek ancient mythology.

His new book, “the Holy Hercules”, is about the history of the mythic hero and presents the fatal reality that originated this myth.

Thodoris Kallifatidis has written over 30 books -mainly novels- in the Swedish language. Thodoris managed to become an eminent writer and his books have been translated into many languages.

His father was a immigrant too, who left the Black Sea in 1960, in order to find a job in a country that was seeking for workforce.

Recently, the immigration subject has been in the headlines due to many radical parties all around Europe. As concerns this subject, Thodoris Kallifatidis has made clear positions. He thinks that whatever measures will be taken, nothing could stop the migration.

”People facing problems are leaving and looking for a new place to live”, he stated. Also, the writer added: “every nation should be a good host for the other nations, if this is possible. Furthermore, help should be given to countries with major problems. All the other solutions have already been tested”.

Finally, the author concluded: “Migrants are not happiness hunters, they just look for solutions, such as the nourishment of their children or the escape from a dictator’s imprisonment”.
