The news of the almost ritualistic murder of a young Texan woman (23) on the 31st of August in a hotel room in Hamburg has shocked everyone around the world and is still being investigated by the German police authorities, who have not been able yet to define a possible motive for this horrific act.
In June, graduate Brittany Nicole Keele from Pearland, USA, traveled to Germany in order to live with a friend and study in Hamburg, which was the dream of her life, said close friend of the victim, Cortnee Rambo at FoxNews.
At the end of August, however, the young woman was found lying dead in her room in the “Fürst Bismarck Hotel“ stabbed more than 30 times, with some of her vital organs missing. The murder weapon was found next to her body completely covered in blood.
The murderer of Keele was identified as another student named Vasileios P. (27) from Sparta, Greece, who was also traveling at that time in Germany and was according to latest information seen with the victim entering the hotel on Tuesday the 30st of August. Although the relationship between the murderer and the victim remains unclear, the 27-year-old allegedly knew his victim from a previous journey in Hamburg.
After the “gruesome murder” as described by the German attorney general, Wilhelm Möller, the Greek student got to Hamburg Airport where he tried to put an end to his life by jumping off a 12-meter high staircase. The murderer was found semi-conscious on Thursday morning by the airport personnel and was admitted to the hospital where he was intubated and had to undergo serious surgery due to internal bleeding and injuries from the fall. A hotel key, a woman’s purse and several personal belongings of Keele were found in his bag. These were the evidence that led the police to the hotel where they found Keele’s remains. The killer is now in a coma and put under police surveillance 24 hours a day.
Family members of Keele have traveled to Hamburg in order to recognize the dismembered body and relatives of the Spartan are said to have come too because of the serious medical condition he is into. If he awakes from the coma he must first face prosecution according to the German law and then according to the Greek one.
