Russian visitors in Greece are a valuable asset for tourism. The tourism sector will hopefully strengthen this relation in the future, so Russia will become one of the major markets for Greek tourism. Within this scope, the Minister of Tourism, Pavlos Geroulanos, is expected to visit Moscow soon, where he will meet with his Russian counterpart and make contacts with tourism agents of Russia. The arrivals from Russia are currently reaching 180% and the Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism, George Nikitiadis, said to the Athens News Agency that this year the arrivals of Russian tourists in Greece might reach 700.000. The Minister of Culture and Tourism, Pavlos Geroulanos underlines that the internet campaign “You In Greece” is very successful in the Russian market and is a way for the tourist agents to advertise Greece to their clients.
