Τhe Special Olympics World Summer Games – Athens 2011 event, which was co-organized by the Greek Embassy in Sweden and the Stockholm Press Office, in collaboration with the Sports Museum and Special Olympics Sweden, was a great success.
The Ambassador of Greece in Sweden, Alice Smith and the chairman of Special Olympics Sweden, Torsten Karlsson, wished the Swedish team good luck. They had the opportunity to experience Greek culture and hospitality, as the event -apart from the general information given about the Games- was accompanied by relevant images of Greece, traditional food and music. The audience was given travel guides of Athens and Rhodes, where the Swedish team will be hosted under the program “Host Town”.
