Dutch Newspaper Mocks Greece’s Financial Situation

One more provocative article about Greece and its financial situation was published today, on a Dutch free-press newspaper coversheet. The newspaper shows a picture of Santorini where the cross is replaced  by a Turkish flag on top of a Greek Orthodox church.

It is also mentioned that due to Greece’s upcoming bankruptcy, Turkish  investors find investments in Greece more attractive. It is a widely circulated free-press newspaper, which has lots of distribution points in train and bus stations around the country.

The picture in the Dutch newspaper is at least humiliating for Greece. It is disrespectful for a country, no matter what its economic diffulties, to be treated like being sold off. A Dutch (or any) newspaper has to right to play games against Greece, a country with a long history which might be going through a difficult period but has not lost either its pride or its morals!!! If I could turn our sides around , I would then publish a picture of Amsterdam in the hands of Germany. Dutch people will not appreciate it, will they? By attacking Greece Europeans are indeed putting their fingers in their eyes….

What hypocrites.   Do people think the Dutch would show a photo of a NAZI flag on an Israeli building if something bad were to happen to Israel?  I think not.

No matter how much you try, Greece and Turkey has and will have good relations!!! A Turkish Citizen.

Don’t let a newpaper fool you in thinking that Dutch people think the same way.
I am from Holland, and believe me that a very big majority favours the Greece people and the protest they are fighting now with your government.
We find It unbelievable that the European Union want to push you Greek people in poverty, only caus that dicatoters in the Eu parlement have a wet dream about a big Europe under one leader. That has been tried before by a surtain Austrian guy back in 1940-1945, and we know the result of that effort.
Keep on fighting, Greek people, you are stronger all together, then the corrupt politician that lead your country.
We are about to have the same here in Holland, and wil soon also start protesting.
Don’t give up, you are fighting the right fight!

Don’t listen to Ajax_Amsterdam, for sure he doesn’t speak for all the dutchpeople. If you know what he wrote on other sites you will see he is a paid propaganda writter from the dutch communistic Party. A party who stopt to listen what the workers from the Netherlands wants for a real long time.
On other sides he wrote that its bad to support Greek.

Correct. No more money to the Greeks from the EU, since that EU is making them into slaves for the EU. That is also not what the Greek people wantt. What the Greek people want is that the EU treats them with respect, and not steeling their country blind!
That is all the EU is after, forcing the Greeks into make all private in Greece.
In Holland that has workes out fatal, and it will also be fatal in Greece.

As a Turkish citizen, i see Greeks as brothers and sisters, where as Dutch press tasteless and provocative. What is it  to you , if there is investment?  There is already money flowing through a Greek bank in Turkey. I do not feel good when my neighbour is in poverty.  What i do not understand is europe’s general hatred towards Turkey and the Turks. And every time you guys meet one of us you are quite impressed, because we are way “better” what you expected us to be. That is just pathetic. Hope to see that the world comes to its senses, and see the things as they really are. That there are mean people everywhere, and good people everywhere. Respect the culture and stuff, peace man. No more bullshit.
    Cheers

As a Dutchman I am disgusted. I would like to know what company and newspaper is responsible for this article so it can feel my sincere and permanent boycott.  Besides: one of the newspapers in the country, de Telegraaf (yes, name and shame them) is not even worth the paper that it has been printed on. Not even as toilet paper.

While you are working for the treasonous PVV with it’s leader that holds a dual Dutch-Israeli passport ?  (I am not a leftie btw nor far-right).

You’re as stupid as a turtle. Charlie. I dont know who put you into saying those things you say but you truly know nothing. The world can keep saying anything they want but there is only one truth and one truth there will be :)

P.S. Who gives a f@ck about articles in newspapers anyway or about stupid losers commenting on the intetrnet while they know sh1t about history. Paying attention to things like that is what holds us back not as greeks but as humans cause thats what counts the most. And if you my retarted little friend speak of such hate for greek ppl while disturbing historical facts like a moron you are, i can only say one thing to you. Things arent always what they tell us, we gotta see for ourselves, but you’re too blind and stupid to see and understand things. And yes some greeks are liers and thieves but the most of greeks are just stupid and thats what got us into this sh1t. Apparently you’re fond of the great european idea. Well if you wanna live in a cage and be f@cked in the ass everyday then do it, but i am not interested, so f@ck europe and f@ck you and every dump b1tch like you

Many people read articles in newspapers to keep upto date on what is going on in the world. Some articles will evoke feelings and emotions in people, but it is this that gets people working together to make the world a better place. You took the time to send in your comment and that means that you too care about articles in newspapers and on the Internet. So you answered your own question: Who gives …………………..? Well, you for one.

  • ColleenOg

Concerning the article in the Dutch paper;  We, as foreigners in Greece feel sorry for all those so called éuropeans’ whose regimentry & dictartoral life has caused them to lose all
    contact with humanity.
I believe, once again, the Greeks and only the Greeks will restore Democracy in Europe, which was lost and distroyed by your nations…………..Wake up!!

How laughable. Proud Greeks defending their flag and feeling offended. Where is the famous Greek pride when it comes to:

    - not bribing or not taking bribes?
    - paying taxes?

The Greek pride only kicks in when convenient. Who is supposed to be impressed? Organize your country, pay taxes and get get efficient. Start producing something. Just like the Turks did over the last 20 years. Then go and buy the stuff back. Or buy German castles! But stop crying and moaning.
