The Greek-Cypriot billionaire – best known as founder of airline easyJet – is working with private equity firm Fore Fitness on the project. Fore has signed a licensing deal which gives it brand rights.
The first two gyms will open in the summer, with plans for others later in the year and then a roll-out of 10 sites a year from 2012.
The first two will be in Slough, Berkshire, and Wood Green, north London.
Like all of the “easy” concepts, the gym business will focus on providing a value-for-money offering in what can be an expensive marketplace.
