Deutsche Well Greek Radio Broadcast Continues for 2010-2013, Germany

The German government assured that the Deutsche Welle Greek radio broadcast will be continued and will not be silenced, within the framework of the restructuring of the radio station for the period of 2010-2013.
Government spokesman, Stephen Zeibert, confirmed today in Berlin that the “Greek Deutsche Welle radio broadcast will not be stopped”. As Mr. Zeibert stated, this information was given by the competent Deputy Minister of Culture, Bernd Neuman.
On Friday the 21st of January, the Deutsche Welle radio council will finalize the station’s program for the 2010 – 2013 period. The initial proposal, which was overturned by the government’s spokesman statements, foresaw, among other things, the termination of the Greek radio broadcast.
Currently, Deutsche Welle, among more than thirty foreign language programs, daily broadcasts a half hour radio broadcast in Greek.  It is also re – broadcast from around 40 radio stations in Greece and Cyprus.
