Police have confirmed a solid link between Italian and Greek anarchists. They state the Italian anarchists who sent parcel bombs to the Greek, Swiss and Chilean embassies were responding to an appeal by Greek anarchists to step up attacks.
The Italian “Informal Anarchist Federation” said in its claim of responsibility Monday, that it wanted to show solidarity with detained Greek anarchists and further their agenda of revolutionary violence, Carabinieri Col. Maurizio Mezzavilla told The Associated Press Tuesday.
The mail bomb discovered Monday was defused without incident. The same group declared responsibility for two bombs that exploded at the Chilean and Swiss embassies on Dec. 23rd that wounded two people.
