Cypriot Claims Evidence of Corruption of Euro 2012 Host Selection

Spiros Marangos is a member on the executive committee of the Cyprus Football Association.  He has stated that he has evidence for corruption in the selection of the Euro 2012 host countries of Poland and Ukraine, Süddeutsche Zeitung newspaper writes.
According to the Cypriot, the votes won by the two countries were traded with a few corrupt UEFA members. Five UEFA members were involved in the scheme. They received 15 million Euros.
Marangos claims he has a few witnesses ready to testify after he failed to attract UEFA President Michel Platini’s attention to the scandal in the past two years. One of the witnesses willing to testify participated directly in the vote trading.
