New German Campaign to Support Greek Tourism

A new campaign to promote greek tourism has started in Germany.  The campaign is initiated by German MEP George Hatzimarkakis (photo), the participation of Built newspaper, the Greek Tourism Organization (EOT), SETE (Greek Touristic Organizations’ Group) and Aegean Airlines. The famous Built newspaper which has up to 13 million readers per day, held a drawing last Saturday for 100 travelers going to Greece from October 1st to October 31st 2010.

The destinations of these trips are Kerkira, Samos, Rhodes, Hania, Kos, Santorini, Loutraki and Thessaloniki. The trips to Greece are organized by EOT and funded by members of SETE.

The trips include plane tickets, hotel accommodation and transportation to and from airports.

The goal of this initiative by Germany is to assist Greece’s tourism sector and to alleviate the adverse conditions created by the German media against Greece in previous months.  There are up to 2.3 million German travelers who visit Greece each year.
