The exhibition with title “Greek Heritage. Greek Orthodox Diaspora in Hungary 17th- 19th century, was presented for third consecutive time in Nyiregyhaza of Hungary, in Josa Andras Museum after its last successful presentation in Greece, in Kozani.
With the opportunity of the museum day in Hungary, during which the museums remain open during the night and can be visited, the inauguration of the exhibition took place by the representative of the Metropolite of Austria, Exarch of Hungary and Central Europe Mr. Michael, the Secretary of the Greek ecclesiastic Community and the Greek- Cypriot- Hungarian friendship association Mr. Vasilios Stamatopoulos and the President of the institute for the Greek civilization Mr. Vasilis Aggelides.
During the day, in the court of the museum, the visitors had the opportunity to taste the Greek cuisine and enjoy the Greek music, learning Greek dances that were presented by Greek dancing groups which were fascinating. The exhibition and the events were attended by more than 4000 visitors. The events were finished early in the morning when the doors of the museum were closed.
The exhibition will remain in the museum until the 10th of August 2010. In addition, the ambassador of Hungary in Greece, Mr. Toth Jozsef is making efforts to transfer this exhibition in Thessaloniki in the framework of the International Exhibition as Hungary is the honored country.
