More than 3000 spectators and 1300 dancers of Pontic Greek Associations Europe, took part at the events of the 19th Youth Festival of Pontian Dances at Bochum in Germany, organized by the Federation in Collaboration with the Pontian Association Herten.
The festival which was held under the auspices of the World Council for Hellenes Abroad (SAE), Europe Region and the mayor of the city, proved this year in the best possible manner the goals of Pontian Hellenism: to motivate children and youth, offering them the opportunity to express themselves creatively.
Evidence to the interest of Pontian Hellenism’s intention to embrace this Festival is the support provided by volunteers from all over Europe, youths in majority, who offered their services and doing their best so that the event would run smoothly and ensure its success.
The events of the festival was attended by the Consul General in Düsseldorf, Markoulakis Prodromos, the representative of the Metropolitan of Germany, Archimandrite Philotheus Maroudas, Alternate President of the World Council of Hellenes Abroad and coordinator of SAE Europe Amarantides George, President of the Federation of Greeks in Lithuania, George Matsoukatof etc.
