Coast management is the subject of the EU funded People for Ecosystem Based Governance in Assessing Sustainable Development of Ocean and Coast (PEGASO) project to be launched in Venice on April 12-14.
Fifteen countries including Greece participate in the initiative, as part of an effort which started in 2008 for the protection of the Mediterranean (Integral Coastal Zone Management in the European Union (ICZM-) , which will be completed in 2014.
Greece is being represented at the Venice meeting by the Hellenic Centre for Marine Research.
