Fire – engine donation to Kassandra of Chalkidiki from Germany

A fire-engine donated by the Mayor of Neu-Isenburg in Germany, to the Greek community of the city. The fire-engine will approximately travel 2247 kilometers and will be delivered to the Union of Volunteer Firefighters of the Fire Brigade of Chalkidiki.
The fire engine which is a Mercedes TLF 16/23 set off on its journey yesterday with Nikos Mihos as its driver, town councilor of Neu-Isenburg and president of the Greek Community of the city and it is bound to reach the Kassandra Chalkidiki town hall by the 8th of April.
Nikos Mihos comes from Larissa and lives in Neu-Isenburg for the past 20 years. Over the past 17 years he has been the president of the Greek community in the German region, hosting 35.000 residents and is himself a volunteer firefighter, whilst his motto, as a Greek of the Diaspora is “ask not what your homeland can do for you, ask what you can do for your homeland”
The city of Neu-Isenburg has already donated to the Greek community previously, which was delivered to the Municipality of Kranonas, of Larissa Prefecture.
